Can I reverse the slide of the sliding patio door?

Yes, you can reverse the slide of a patio door prior to the installation. The instructions to do this are included with every vinyl patio door. This option is not available on the vinyl patio doors with blinds-between-the-glass. Please note: This cannot be done on wood sliding patio doors.

How do I know if I have a fire-rated door?

All fire-rated doors are required to be labeled as such.

Can the multipoint lock on my door be re-keyed by a locksmith?

Yes, the multipoint lock on our entry door systems can be re-keyed by a locksmith.

Why is it important to plumb, level and square my product?

It is important to plumb, level and square your product so the unit operates correctly. If the unit is not installed properly, it could jeopardize the functionality and performance of the unit.

Can the lock on a vinyl door be keyed to match another door in my home?

Yes, a local locksmith would be able to key your vinyl sliding patio door to match an existing door on your home.

What do you recommend to clean the glass?

Use a premixed vinegar-based cleaning solution (or make your own with one part vinegar to 10 parts water), and apply to a soft, clean lint-free microfiber cloth or paper towel. Or you may use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex (clear liquid) or Sparkle (purple liquid). Do not use glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based. They may leave streaks or produce a film that attracts moisture or dust.

Is the door panel under the sweep finished?

No, the door panel under the sweep is not finished. There is not a need for this section of the door to be finished because it is not exposed to weather elements and is not a visible surface.

My oil-rubbed bronze handles are discolored.

Oil-Rubbed Bronze is a living finish that will develop its own unique patina with use. This hardware is actually a dark bronze finish over copper. The intent is that the outer finish will wear, allowing the copper to show through. More use equals more wear, thus a “living finish.” The changing of colors is a part of the natural aging process for this type of finish.

Can I apply a window tint to my products?

We do not suggest adding a tint to your window glass as this will void your warranty.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

We do not suggest painting your vinyl products as this will void your warranty.

What are the foam pieces in the bottom of my double hung window?

The foam pieces in your window are used to ensure a tight seal, giving the unit a high level of performance.

I work and cannot be home during the week, do you install on Saturdays?

Yes we do. We try to let or homeowners know that they will have a better chance of getting an install date within 4 weeks of ordering if they’re scheduled during the week. We recommend arranging for a relative or friend to be present at your home that day rather than waiting for an available Saturday. They book up quickly!!!!

What happens in the event of rain?

We will reschedule your installation. There are many hazards when working in the rain with vinyl, glass, and electrical tools. We cannot guarantee that you will be re-scheduled for the next available dry day, but you will be given top priority. During the rainy season we constantly check the weather forecast in order to give homeowners as much advance warning as possible.

What type of warranty do you offer on the windows and on your installation?

All products Admired Windows & Doors sell carry a Pella limited warranty from the manufacturer. Our installation carries an Admired limited warranty as well.

How long will it take for our installation to be completed?

Installation services vary for each project most installation services can be done within 1 day. The spirit of our comment is to get your job done right and do it quickly. Actually, the length of time depends on each situation and the number of windows and/or doors we’ll be installing.

Do you offer financing?
